The most important factor is that the padding of the glove effectively covers all areas of the hand and wrist. To get a basic idea of your glove size, measure from the bottom of the elbow pad to the tip of your fingers. This value is your glove size. While this is a good general guideline, ultimately its up to you to decide which kind of fit you'll be trying to get.
